Public Profiles

All Athletes and Specialists get free public profiles on PointShot. This serves as your online hockey presence where you can feature your resume, expertise, and development path. We also offer cross-linking to your various social media profiles, including Instagram, X, YouTube, and Elite Prospects.

Note that Parent users do not have their own public profiles. Instead, they are linked to their child athlete’s profile with full admin access. However, parents can also create additional profiles, too (for example, if a parent happens to be a specialist as well).

Profile Sections

Section titled “Profile Sections”

All public profiles have the following sections for all types:

Profile Header The top portion of your profile, featuring your name, photo, social media links, location, and key information based on your profile type. For example, position and team for athletes or headline and organization for specialists. This is also one place you’ll find your Edit Profile button when you’re logged in.

About Tab This is the primary content area of your profile where you can write about yourself, post an intro video, and share more about your experience. Specific cards on this page vary based on your profile type.

COMING SOON: Videos Tab Soon you’ll be able to share your videos publicly on your profile. Select games or clips from your video library and host them on the Videos tab for the world to see. Stay tuned for more updates.

Searching for Profiles

Section titled “Searching for Profiles”

Use the Search link in the top navigation to browse public Athlete profiles on PointShot. The search page shows every active, publicly-visible athlete in a paginated grid, with each card linking through to that athlete’s profile.

A few things to know about today’s experience:

  • Athletes only. This search is for discovering athletes. Specialists are discovered through the Marketplace instead, where you can browse listings, services, and pricing alongside each specialist’s profile.
  • Visibility rules apply. Athletes under 13 do not appear in search, and any profile that has been hidden by its owner won’t show up. See Athlete Profiles for the full visibility rules.
  • Type-ahead search by name. A search bar sits at the top of the page; deeper filtering and faceted browse are not yet available (see below).

COMING SOON: Browsing and filtering We’re building out richer browse and filter tools so athletes, parents, and specialists can find the profiles that matter most to them. Planned filters include gender, position, birth year, level of play, organization or team, and more — with the ability to combine filters and sort results. Stay tuned for updates.
