Creating an Account

Welcome to PointShot! Registration is a quick process with just a few steps to get started.

PointShot accounts are unique in that they can have several profiles of different types. Say you’re a parent who’s also a coach. You can have a parent login (with access to your athlete’s profile), an organization profile to administer your team, and a specialist profile where you can coach athletes on our marketplace. You can easily switch between profiles through the Account Settings page (coming soon!).

Initial Registration

When you’re ready to create your account, navigate to our Registration Page and enter an email address and password.

Password Requirements:

Uppercase and lowercase letters
A number
A symbol (#, $, &, etc.)
At least 8 characters

You’ll need to accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to continue.

Verifying your email address

After submitting your login credentials, you’ll be sent a verification email to the address you provided. Click the link in this message to verify your email address. Please be sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see the email within a few minutes.

You can always resend the email from the verification page if you still do not see it.

Initial Profile Details

Once your account is created, you’ll need to select a profile type and add some basic information.

To learn more about profile types, select the which one best describes you:

Athlete Setup

After selecting the Athlete profile type, you will then enter some basic information about yourself, including your first and last name, a nickname (optional), location, and your date of birth. We use date of birth to set some specific permissions for the safety of minors. All profiles may still be used for video editing and specialist services, regardless of age.

On the next page, confirm your information, then click “Create Profile.” Congratulations, you now have a profile on PointShot!

Parent Setup

Athletes under the age of 18 years of age must have a parent user included on their profile. Parents may register on behalf of their athlete and can indicate that during registration.

If a minor athlete is registering, they will need to enter their parent’s first name, last name, and email address. The parent will receive an email invitation and, once accepted, will have full access and visibility into their athlete’s profile.

Minors must have one verified parent attached to their profile at all times. New accounts with “pending” parent invitations will be hidden and cannot communicate on PointShot until a parent is verified. You can add more than one parent to your profile in the “Parental Controls” page of your profile settings. Parents will remain pending until they accept the invitation and create their account. Athletes are unable to remove a verified parent until another parent is verified.

Specialist Setup

Select the “Specialist” profile type after verifying your email. On the next page, enter some basic information about yourself, including:

First and last name
Location
Headline (e.g. Goaltending Coach, Certified Mental Performance Expert, etc.)
Organization (e.g. your business name, association, etc.)

Confirm your information, then click “Create Profile.” Your information will be submitted for verification and onboarding.
